The Foundation is indeed fortunate to have in Mr. Salman Khurshid a guide and a mentor. His vast experience in education, both inside government and in the voluntary sector is a valuable asset in our unique endeavour. As the Head Boy of Delhi Public School, Mathura Road and top alumnus of the school, he remains an icon for succeeding generations of Dipsites. His fifteen years as President, Delhi Public School Society, saw exponential growth of schools making the Society a landmark in school education.
Mr Khurshid distinguished himself at St Stephen’s College, Delhi University (BA Hons) and St Edmund Hall, Oxford (MA, BCL Juris) before teaching Jurisprudence at Trinity College, Oxford. Upon return to India he worked as OSD to Prime Minister Indira Gandhi before joining the Bar at the Supreme Court of India where he is at present a Senior Counsel. His association with Oxford continues as Honorary Fellow of St Edmund Hall.
Grandson of India’s Third President, Dr Zakir Husain and son of late Governor of Goa and Karnataka, Mr Khurshid Alam Khan, Salman Khurshid has been Minister of Corporate Affairs, Minority Affairs, Water Resources, Law & Justice, and External Affairs. He has several books to his credit including the play, ‘The Sons of Babar’

Our Indian standard of education is excellent. Our students are amongst the best in the world. They score high on marks – to the extent of securing even 100% in English! But can we truly say that our children are well rounded? Not just masters of marks but also fluent in languages, communication and general knowledge? Have they developed team spirit and qualities of leadership? Do they see beyond the confines of their school and home to recognize inequalities around? Can they hold their own in public debates or present themselves admirably in an interview?
This is a challenge that we at the Delhi World Foundation have taken up in earnest. The wealth of knowledge and experience of our Life Trustees, Term Trustees, Advisory Council and Members of the Education & Resource Council is being harnessed to open students’ eyes to all the wonderful things that the world has to offer.
In simple words we want them to be children, leading an exciting child’s life and not be forced to become premature adults! Please join us and be part of our new adventure full of wonder and care.

Delhi World Public School was established with a vision to achieve excellence in providing all round education, we have constantly updated ourselves each year to provide great education to the students. Delhi World Public School had adopted the CBSE curriculum to ensure the overall development of a child, in academics, sports and extracurricular activities. The curriculum design encourages a student to think independently instead of rote learning. It equips a student to face any standard of higher education once they pass out from the school. We have developed an environment for the holistic development of a child, right from Kindergarten to Secondary. Delhi Public School Alumni or Dipsites are spread across the globe and share special bonds that do not fade despite years of separation. The uniqueness of the experience of Delhi Public School Alumni/Dipsites is known only to those who have been part of this unique education experience. Generation after generation they have added to the original glory and special feeling that touched them. But as the alma mater grew into a vast empire the natural space that should have opened up for the multitude of Dipsites some how did not come to fruition. Naturally other attractions and opportunities in life captured the attention of a legion of remarkably talented alumni. Lest they be lost to other causes and associations in life some hard core Dipsites decided to bring them all together as part of the Delhi World Foundation. It is an ambitious, noble, productive experiment to enrich the world with unparalleled knowledge communication: combining the art of learning with access to the best global pedagogues. Excellence in education with a transparent commitment to equity for all, extreme technology combined with the human touch, and above all uniqueness of the teacher taught bond of the Delhi Public School experience, will hopefully set the Foundation apart in contemporary India. We are Former or Current Students, Parents, Teachers or Principals, or Non-Teaching staff Member of Delhi Public School Society, New Delhi, Owner of a Delhi Public School Franchise School. We are ‘Dipsites’, where the Delhi World Foundation is concerned. We are part of the Dipsite World. We are entitled to be members of the Delhi World Foundation.
